Rope access jobs are potentially some of the most dangerous, as they require technicians to work at heights using nothing but a harness and some rigging. As such, it is important that safety measures are in place to ensure the workers’ well-being.

These safety measures can include fall prevention systems using safety anchors, static lines, and access ladders. There are also redundancies such as secondary rigging that acts as a safety line just in case the main rigging fails. With so much at risk while performing rope access work, it’s not surprising that workers’ safety lands at the top of most rope access companies’ priorities. My brother worked for a company in the UK called ProAltus. He said workers’ safety was always one of their biggest concerns, and rightfully so. If it wasn’t, I’d tell him to take his talents elsewhere!
